CBT Therapist in London

CBT That Works Around a Demanding Life

A lot of my clients in London want this handled quietly and efficiently, no clinic waiting room, no fuss. I work through home visits and online sessions, using CBT to work through what’s actually driving the anxiety, stress, or burnout, not just talk around it.

CBT Therapy for Professionals in London

Much of my London caseload is professionals who want this dealt with efficiently and privately, no waiting rooms, no visible commitment in a diary that colleagues might ask about. That often includes male clients specifically, though the caseload is genuinely mixed.

I see clients across London through home visits or online sessions, whichever keeps things simplest for you.

How Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Works

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT, is NICE-recommended for depression and for anxiety disorders. I apply the same method to stress, burnout, sleep problems, and self-esteem, where the issue comes down to a pattern rather than something needing full reprocessing.

The process is structured: identify what’s maintaining the problem, then work on that directly, with things to practise outside sessions. It isn’t just talking things through indefinitely.

Who CBT Therapy in London Helps

Nobody needs to be falling apart to start CBT. Most of my London clients are managing perfectly well on the surface, demanding professional roles, full schedules, and still carrying anxiety, low mood, or burnout that doesn’t show up anywhere obvious. Sleep problems and self-esteem issues come up just as often as anything more clinical-sounding.

The common thread isn’t severity, it’s a pattern that’s overdue for actually being addressed rather than managed round.

CBT Therapist Background and Training

Most private CBT therapists haven’t worked in secure mental health settings. I have, Broadmoor included, alongside primary care, before training in CBT and later EMDR.

BABCP accreditation means the training and ongoing practice behind it are independently checked. I also still work part-time at the University of Cambridge. None of it guarantees a fit for you specifically, but it does mean the approach is properly grounded rather than improvised.

What Clients Say About CBT Therapy in London

Can’t recommend highly enough!!! Ryan was an exceptional trauma-informed CBT therapist and I can’t recommend him highly enough. From the very first session, he immediately made me feel relaxed, safe, and comfortable enough to open up about what was going on. He explained things in a way that was easy to understand and always made the techniques feel relevant and personal to my situation. Ryan encouraged me to really commit to the CBT work and challenged me in a supportive and constructive way. Because of that, I saw amazing results. The impact his therapy has had on my life has genuinely been life changing, and I’m incredibly grateful for his support and guidance.

I couldn’t recommend Ryan more. Ryan is a highly trained therapist, who you feel at ease with after just your first meeting. He speaks to you like you’re a real person and creates an environment that you feel that you can open up in. Ryan has real life applicable techniques which are easy to integrate into your day to day life. He genuinely has changed my life and way of thinking.

My time working with Ryan was very helpful and productive. I’ve had several counsellors over the years, and elements of Ryan’s approach were quite different and very suited to me. His manner is relaxed and empathetic. Whilst the time was taken to aid my understanding of myself, he also provided real tools and tactics that enabled me to put the changes I wanted to make into practice. This has often been the gap in the past that prevented me from making meaningful change. I’m doing well now, but wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Ryan, for a top up, or to work through another issue on the future. Thank you, Ryan.

I have tried NHS and a few other therapy services. Slan Therapy was the one that stuck. Ryan is patient and lets you go at your own pace whilst also making sure you are progressing. He made me feel so at ease and I looked forward to the sessions instead of dreading them (like all the ones before). My life is now brighter since working with him. 100% recommend, his Irish self won’t let you down!

Ryan is an amazing person. When I was at the lowest of lows, he picked me up and saved me from the hurricane. His calm and non judgemental nature put me at ease and I will forever be indebted to him. Thank you, Ryan!
